PERM Labor Certification
PERM labor certification is the U.S. Department of Labor stage that many employment-based green card cases go through before the immigrant petition itself is ever filed. It's one of the case types we handle most often, for employers of every size.

We start with a consultation with the employer to understand the position and the hiring history behind it. Once we’re engaged, we walk you through what the process calls for at each stage and prepare the recruitment materials and forms along the way, so nothing gets built out of order. When the groundwork is complete, we prepare and file the labor certification application itself. If the Department of Labor has questions or opens an audit, we manage that response the same way we’d manage any other filing — carefully and without cutting corners. Once certification comes through, we move directly into preparing the immigrant petition, so there’s no unnecessary gap between the two stages.
Throughout the case, we keep both the employer and the sponsored employee updated. PERM cases can take a while, and we don’t let anyone sit in the dark while a case is pending.
What to Expect Working With Us
PERM is a marathon, not a sprint, and we tell clients that up front. Because so much of this process depends on government processing outside anyone’s control, we focus on what is in our control: doing the recruitment and documentation right the first time, staying on top of our own deadlines, and giving you honest updates even during the quiet stretches. If your case needs an audit response or anything unexpected comes up along the way, we treat it with the same care and attention to detail as the original filing. Consultations and case communication are available in English and Spanish.
Frequently asked questions
Does the PERM process involve back-and-forth with my employer's HR department?
Yes — PERM is inherently a team effort between our office and your employer. We handle the government-facing process, but we'll need ongoing input and documentation from HR along the way, and we make that as painless as we can.
How will I know what stage my case is at?
We check in on active cases regularly and reach out with updates, even when there's no news yet, so you're never left wondering.
Do you offer consultations in Spanish?
Yes, in English and Spanish — for employers and employees both.
