E-1/E-2 Treaty Investors & L-1 New Office

E-2 status lets a citizen of a treaty country come to the U.S. to direct and grow a business they've invested in; L-1 lets a company transfer certain employees to a new or existing U.S. office. We handle both, from the first filing through extensions and renewals — one of our most active case types.

How We Help

We start with a consultation about your business — what it does, how it’s structured, and what stage it’s at. Once we’re engaged, we walk you through what the case will need in plain terms, using a questionnaire built specifically for E and E-2 visa cases, available in English and Spanish. From there, we prepare the petition and the supporting business documentation, and we review it with you before anything is filed. For L-1 new-office cases, we help you think through the timeline of getting a U.S. office up and running alongside the immigration filing. If the government has questions, we manage that response and keep you informed the whole way, and for extensions we start early enough that there’s no unnecessary gap in your status.

What to Expect Working With Us

Investor and transfer cases are as much about your business as they are about the immigration filing, so we take the time to actually understand what you’ve built or what you’re building. We’ll ask for financial records, business plans, and other documentation that can feel like a lot — we explain why each piece matters so it doesn’t feel like busywork. We stay involved after the initial approval, too, since these cases often come back around for extensions or renewals down the road. Consultations and case communication are available in English and Spanish.
